José Henrique Bortoluci is a writer and scholar based in São Paulo, Brazil.
His first book, O que é Meu (What is Mine), was published in Brazil in 2023 (Editora Fósforo). It received the 2023 APCA Award for best essay from the São Paulo Academy of Art Critics and is now being published in twelve languages by major international presses.

I was born in Jaú, Brazil, in 1984. I studied and taught International Relations, Sociology and History in Brazil (FGV) and in the US (University of Michigan, PhD in Sociology). With 16 years of experience as a university professor, I am now focused on exploring the possibilities of combining fiction and non-fiction, the social and the personal, in various literary projects.
